Coy Bailey II is a Professor of American and Texas History at Blinn College’s Bryan Campus in Bryan/College Station, Texas. He has served as a faculty member in the college’s History Department since August 2021, marking a successful four-year tenure within the Blinn College District.
Bailey holds a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Political Science from Sam Houston State University, awarded in December 2016, and a Master of Arts in American Contemporary and Texas History, which he completed in May 2021. He joined Blinn College shortly after, contributing to the college’s academic community with a focus on historical inquiry and education.
In 2023, Bailey was nominated for the Blinn College Teaching Excellence Award, an accolade he received again in 2024 and 2025, in recognition of his exceptional commitment to fostering student engagement and promoting the significance of history in contemporary discourse. In 2021, Bailey also completed a major scholarly portfolio for Sam Houston State University and co-edited Since Beyond Texas Through Time with Dr. Robert “Ty” Cashion. His scholarly work extends beyond the classroom, as he has published a range of opinion pieces in local newspapers across the Brazos Valley. Bailey is currently working on his forthcoming project, On the Devil’s Doorstep: An Investigative History into the Salem Witch Trails, with plans for publication by the end of 2025.
